English course + Research (Geography, Society, Politics, Economy, Culture, History)
The aim of the scholarship:
The program is designed to increase knowledge about Cyprus, to encourage European students (17-28 years old college/university, part or full-time students) to learn more about the culture, economy, society, geography, history and politics of the island while learning English. The working language of the programme is English. The students attend an intensive English language course, we provide English lessons every day. In the afternoons they might complete the research essays and attend the free time activities organised by the English Activator Language School. We will accommodate all students in our hotel apartments with bathroom and kitchen together with other EAC students from all over the word.
A 2-week scholarship programme includes:
- 2-week general English course 30 lessons/2weeks (might be extended up to 12 weeks)
- museum visit, city tour, Living history afternoon
- research on Cyprus – to submit a 10 pages essay at the end of the programme or within 30 days.
Tasks:
Students
-attend the English course
-be active in a research project on Cyprus (ex. museum visits), must choose one discipline and write a short essay
EAC
-organises an intensive English language course, tests and evaluates the students,
- provides a museum visit, a city tour, and a Living history lecture
-helps the students in their research on Cyprus, publishes the essays
-gives a course diploma and a Focus on you evaluation sheet,
Costs:
Student pays
- accommodation, airplane ticket
EAC pays
- educational costs, group leaders;
- written and spoken language tests during the scholarship;
- a course diploma;

The EAC scholarship is a great opportunity for you to jump into an international environment, making friend with other students from all over the world, learning English and discover Cyprus the island of love, the birthplace of Aphrodite.
The life in Cyprus is a mixture of the English culture, the Greek hospitality. Cipriots are very friendly, they speak Greek and English. Most of the tourist are from the United Kingdom, and the nightlife in Ayia Napa is like Ibiza.
The cost of living is very similar to the western European countries. Only the accommodation prices are higher, but our language school can offer you rooms for a really affordable price. Our rooms and apartments are well equipped and they are close to the beach. The best thing is that you will speak English all day because you will live together with other students. This will help you to learn more about other cultures and make friends.
A sample scholarship (2 weeks)
1st day: arriving in Cyprus, airport transfer (optional), checking in at the hotel
2nd day: English test, sunbathing at the beach in the afternoon, getting the test results and group number
3rd. day: 9.00-12.30 English lessons, welcome party
4th-12th day: 9.30-13.00 English lessons, in the afternoons: research, beach, sports, sightseeing (optional)
13th day: final English test, farewell party,
14th day: getting your EAC certificate, airport transfer (optional)
After your scholarship you have to send us your essay about Cyprus and if possible publish it in your college/university newspaper or website.
